Suzhou Rail Transit (SRT) held special English training events recently in a bid to enhance the bilingual skills of its staffers for better service.
English teachers were specially invited to give lessons onEnglish pronunciation and oral communication skillsto the front-line staff at Xinghaiguangchang Station星海廣場站of Line 1 and Shizishan Station獅子山站of Line 3 as well as those recognized as models for excellent service, helping internationalize the service provided by SRT.
Based on service scenarios and passenger groups, over 100 daily expressions were organized, translated into English and recorded for teaching and learning. The staff can scan a QR code (see below) to learn at first hand.
English phrase booksfor SRT service were compiled so that the staff can flick through the pages and progress bit by bit. By doing so, they are on the track to understanding inquiries from foreign passenegers and giving correct answers.
In addition, the customer service center at Dongfangzhimen Station東方之門站has been equipped withEnglish translation devicesso that overseas visitors coming to Suzhou will experience thewarm and attentive servicefrom SRT.
